Showtime’s spring season in full swing

Showtime’s spring season in full swing

ShowtimeSpecialPennyMAY14REVShowtime’s new series “Penny Dreadful” is getting good reviews. But that’s only a small part of the spring lineup. Fans of “Nurse Jackie” and “Californication” are reveling in the new seasons of those shows.

Penny Dreadful,” a chilling psychological thriller, is created and written by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan (“Hugo,” “The Aviator,” “Gladiator”) and executive-produced by Logan and Oscar winner Sam Mendes (“American Beauty,” “Skyfall”).

“Penny Dreadful” features some of literature’s most famously terrifying characters – including Dr. Victor Frankenstein and his monster, Dorian Gray, and iconic figures from the novel “Dracula” – all brilliantly reimagined. The cast includes Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton and Eva Green. Reeve Carney, Rory Kinnear, Billie Piper, Danny Sapani and Harry Treadaway also star.
You can catch “Penny Dreadful” on Sundays at 10 p.m.

The twisted and darkly funny “Nurse Jackie” is back with a new season of little white lies and little blue pills. Jackie realizes sobriety is the ultimate cover for getting high. Now she’s saving lives at work and taking care of her kids, and her boyfriend loves the new Jackie. She’s got everyone fooled, but what goes up must come down. Don’t miss Edie Falco in her Emmy-winning role. “Nurse Jackie” can be seen on Sundays at 9 p.m.

Golden Globe winner David Duchovny returns in a new season of “Californication.” Hank Moody has come a long way. After blowing every chance at love and happiness – and burning every bridge in Hollywood – he is finally ready to put the past to bed. But as always, old indiscretions turn up to bite him squarely in the behind. Could it be too late to pull off a happy ending? Catch “Californication” on Showtime on Sundays at 9:30 p.m. to find out.

If you’re not a Showtime subscriber, you can sign up right now to catch “Penny Dreadful,” “Nurse Jackie” and “Californication,” among other top-rated series. BendBroadband’s is happy to announce our special Showtime offer: Only $6.95 a month for 12 months.
