Technology combines internet, phone and mobile applications for efficient business solution
Bend, Ore. (March 22, 2017) –– BendBroadband announces the availability of a new Voice over IP (VoIP) business communications tool, TDS® managedIP Hosted. With managedIP Hosted, businesses can converge internet, phone and mobile services to improve call handling and call routing. In addition, area businesses can leverage nearly 50 other Unified Communications features and applications.
Business owners nationwide have been using this product, developed and sold by TDS Telecom (TDS®), in hundreds of telecom communities for years. Now, the same hosted communications solution is being unveiled in Bend. Redmond, and Sisters, Oregon.
“We are pleased to be able to offer our business customers a new solution. While the product is new to us here in Central Oregon, it’s a proven technology being delivered by TDS to thousands of other businesses across the nation,” says Wade Holmes, director of Engineering and Technology at TDS and BendBroadband, who lives in Bend.
Local network enhancements completed recently are allowing for the technology to be launched now.
“Over the past three years we’ve invested millions of dollars improving the reliability and speeds of the network in Central Oregon,” adds Holmes. “Now, those investments are paying off with greater internet performance and new product launches like this for our business customers.”
TDS brings together major vendors including Cisco, Polycom and Broadsoft to offer a solution that provides business tools such as: Meet-Me conferencing, Call Center, Receptionist Client (to allow one person to answer calls from multiple locations), and Call Recordings.
All employees at BendBroadband—more than 300—use the service themselves. “Like many businesses here in Central Oregon, we at BendBroadband work with co-workers, customers and venders all across the nation,” says Stephanie Senner, Commercial Marketing manager. “For me the Desktop Sharing and Virtual Collaboration Room applications really improve the way I communicate. I can be hundreds of miles away and talk directly to a person just as if they were sitting across from me at my desk.”
With managedIP Hosted, TDS will manage, protect, and upgrade the communications system for BendBroadband customers. “That’s what ‘managed’ means,” adds Holmes. “We manage it and our customers can do what they do best — grow their business.”
