Cork & Barrel is a three-day fundraising event series benefiting KIDS Center, Central Oregon’s only child abuse intervention center. This year, Cork & Barrel is featuring “A Taste of the PNW”, with nearly 20 wineries of Walla Walla, Willamette Valley, and the Columbia Gorge. The event, July 20-22, allows guests to experience all that is unique and divine about this region.
This three-day event focuses on the time-honored relationship between wine and food. From small, intimate Winemaker Dinners to a fun and exploratory atmosphere at A Sip of Cork & Barrel, to the Grand Cru fundraising gala. Attend one or all three events and you won’t be disappointed!
Funds raised from this amazing event benefit KIDS Center, a regional child abuse prevention, evaluation, and treatment center that opened in 1994. KIDS Center’s services include medical evaluations, forensic interviews, family support services, and individual and group therapy that is key to helping children move beyond the abuse and into healthy futures. Nearly 2,700 children, youth and families were served through KIDS Center programs in 2016.
KIDS Center responds to children who have experienced all types of abuse including physical, sexual, drug endangerment, witness to domestic violence and neglect. KIDS Center offers therapeutic services to help children and families begin to process and overcome the trauma of abuse. In addition, their services include prevention programs to help teach adults in our community how to better protect children from abuse – click here for a list of trainings.
