Plan now for Bend Summer Concert Series

BendBroadband is once again proud to sponsor the Bend Summer Concerts series, which will bring a mix of classic rock, jazz, classical music, pop, alternative rock and more to the Les Schwab Amphitheater.

Concerts run from June 11 to Sept. 8 at the outdoor concert venue. Two shows are already sold out: Paul Simon on June 24 and Jack Johnson on July 20. But tickets remain for Diana Krall, John Mellencamp, the Steve Miller Band and the rest of the dates.

Sunday, June 11, 6:30 p.m., John Mellencamp with special guests Jewel and Carlene Carter
John Mellencamp is a musician, singer-songwriter and actor. In the 1980s he had a string of Top 10 singles including “Small Town”, “Jack and Diane” and “Cherry Bomb”. On April 28, he released his latest album, Sad Clowns & Hillbillies. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.

Friday, June 30, 6 p.m., An Evening with Pink Martini
Pink Martini is a “little orchestra” that crosses the musical genres of classical, Latin, jazz and classic     pop. Pianist Thomas Lauderdale formed the group in 1994 in Portland.
Saturday, July 1, 7 p.m., An Evening with Ween
Ween is an American alternative rock band that is known for their highly eclectic catalog of songs inspired by funk, soul, country, gospel, R&B, heavy metal, punk and more.
Tuesday, July 4, 6:15 p.m., Deftones + Rise Against
Deftones is an American alternative metal band from Sacramento. Their track “Elite” won a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2000.

The group, Slightly Stoopid, describes their music as a “fusion of folk, rock, reggae and blues with hip-hop, funk, metal and punk.”

The Avett Brothers are an American folk rock band that combine bluegrass, country, punk, pop melodies, folk, rock and roll, indie rock, honky tonk and ragtime. Their 2016 album, True Sadness, was nominated for a Grammy Award.

Tuesday, July 25, 7 p.m., An Evening with Diana Krall
Diana Krall is a jazz pianist and singer. She has sold more than 6 million albums in the United States and 15 million worldwide. She has won five Grammy Awards.
Friday, Aug. 4, 6 p.m., Steve Miller Band with Peter Frampton
Steve Miller Band is an American rock band formed in 1966. Steve Miller was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016. Peter Frampton is rock musician, singer and songwriter. He is best known for his hit songs “Breaking All the Rules,” “Show Me the Way,” “Baby, I Love Your Way,” “Do You Feel Like We Do,” and “I’m in You.”
August 10-12, noon, Bend Brewfest
Friday, Sept. 8, 6:30 p.m., Michael Franti & Spearhead
Michael Franti & Spearhead blends hip hop with a variety of other styles including funk, reggae, jazz, folk, and rock.
Friday, Sept. 22, Modest Mouse
Formed by teenagers 25 years ago in Issaquah, Wash., Modest Mouse is one of the biggest and most influential acts ever to emerge from the Pacific Northwest’s fertile music scene. The band broke through with its 2004 hit song “Float On,” and each of its two most recent albums (2007’s We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank and 2015’s Strangers to Ourselves) reached the top three of the Billboard 200 album chart.

Free Sunday Concert Series kicks off June 4
The Bend Memorial Clinic Free Summer Sunday Concert starts June 4 and goes through mid-July. Come on down to the Les Schwab Amphitheater and enjoy a beautiful afternoon of great music and healthy family fun. Delish food vendors, bouncy-houses and other activities will be onsite.

Well behaved pets (and their owners) are welcomed. All Bend Memorial Clinic Free Summer Sunday Concerts run from 2:30-4:30 p.m., and feature local and nationally touring artists who typically require a ticket to see. Bring your dancing feet!
