Next time you drive by the BendBroadband office on Sherman Road, be sure to stop and donate a food item. A St. Vincent de Paul donation barrel is located at the BendBroadband office at 63090 Sherman Road in Bend this holiday season. The barrel will be there from now until Dec. 31.
When asked about their greatest need, St. Vincent de Paul Society said: canned soup, canned veggies, fruit, sweet potatoes, cranberries and boxed mashed potatoes!
St. Vincent de Paul Social Services of Bend provides food boxes with enough groceries to prepare meals for five days to eligible individuals and families. Food boxes are available to families every 30 days. St. Vincent de Paul is the largest provider of emergency food boxes in Deschutes County.
Since 1981, St. Vincent de Paul has helped the disadvantaged in the community of Bend in a caring and compassionate manner. Last year, St. Vincent de Paul in Bend served 265,000 meals, 11,049 adults and 6,961 children. St. Vincent offers low-income housing and assisted several hundred families so that they could keep their lights shining, water flowing and home warms.
St. Vincent de Paul of Bend is locally organized and staffed to serve anyone in need with dignity and respect. Through donations by individuals and local businesses, St. Vincent provides food, clothing, utility, propane, prescription, and transitional housing to help families and individuals who are in need. They serve all people in the Bend area without discrimination regarding race, color, national origin, gender, sexuality, age, religion, political beliefs, or disabilities.
