When, where and how to watch the 2017 NCAA Tournament

When, where and how to watch the 2017 NCAA Tournament

The teams have been selected, the brackets are set, and the 2017 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament starts this week!

Games officially begin Tuesday with the First Four, and Thursday through Sunday brings the avalanche of hoops action known as the First and Second Rounds.

The Final Four is scheduled for April 1 (no foolin’), and a national champion will be crowned April 3. Here’s a full schedule of the games.

And below is a roundup of the different ways you can keep up with the action.

WATCH ON TV
All games will be broadcast on CBS and the Turner family of networks (TNT, TBS and TruTV), with CBS carrying the Final Four games and the national championship game.

Here’s where BendBroadband customers can find each of those channels:

CBS: Channels 6 and 606 HD (all tiers)
TBS: Channels 16 and 616 HD (Essentials and Preferred tiers)
TNT: Channels 17 and 617 HD (Essentials and Preferred tiers)
TruTV: Channels 142 and 742 HD (Essentials and Preferred tiers)

WATCH ONLINE
On the Internet, March Madness Live is the NCAA’s one-stop shop for streaming the games. All games broadcast on CBS are free to watch for anyone. Games on TBS, TNT and TruTV require customers with the Essentials or Preferred package to log in using their BendBroadband email addresses and passwords. However, everyone can enjoy a free trial that will allow you to watch for 3 hours.

The content can be viewed via desktop, iOS, Android and Windows phone and tablet apps. This year, the tournament will also be accessible via Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku, Google Chromecast and, for the first time, Amazon Alexa devices and Xbox.

Read more about all the viewing options for the tournament here and here.  This Lifehacker guide to streaming the games across all devices looks pretty helpful, too.

Now that you’ve got all that squared away … let the madness begin!

On Tuesday, April 5, the Golden State Warriors’ game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, originally scheduled to air on TNT (channels 17/617 HD), will be blacked out in Bend. This is an NBA-mandated blackout in markets the league deems “local” to the Warriors. We apologize for the inconvenience. (Photo credit Noah Graham/NBAE/Getty Images) Continue Reading
