Musicians and singers, young and old are invited to attend one or all four of the workshops where the Jazz performers from the series teach the next generation this extraordinary art form. These free music-education workshops are an important part of BendBroadband’s Jazz at the Oxford. No matter what style or how long you’ve played, you are welcome to attend.

Local Jazz musician Georges Bouhey hosts these workshops and this will be his sixth season doing so. The first workshop kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 21, 11;15 a.m. at the Minnesota Ballroom at the OXFORD hotel.

“I’m so pleased that these workshops have grown in size year after year,” said Georges. “These workshops keep me in touch with young people and more importantly it helps keep Jazz alive. It’s so important for young Jazz players to be exposed to live Jazz music. Many thanks to BendBroadband for sponsoring Jazz at the Oxford. To my knowledge this is the only opportunity for young people and Central Oregonians to see, hear and interact with world-class touring professional Jazz musicians.”

Georges was the original drummer for Mason Williams and The Santa Fe Recital. He toured extensively at top venues like Red Rocks Amphitheater & Wolf Trap Farm Park with artists including Mason Williams, Sal Marquez (Tonight Show Band) and Glen Campbell.

BendBroadband extends a special thanks to Georges for hosting these wonderful events.Jazz drummer T.S. Monk will kick off the educational workshops this year.
