2014 World Cup Contest Winner

Mike Eldard of Baxter Auto Parts is the winner of this year’s BendBroadband World Cup contest. Eldard received a MacBook Air with a neoprene case.

“I saw the contest when I visited the BendBroadband website,” said Eldard. “I never thought I’d win. This is a huge surprise and I’m very grateful.”

Eldard has managed Baxter Auto Parts on S Highway 97 for more than a decade. The Tigard native moved to Bend shortly after high school to work at the store and has been here ever sense. A true gear head, Eldard loves restoring and modifying classic cars. A long-time love: The iconic Datsun 510. “It’s such a fun, satisfying car to work on and there’s a huge following around the world,” he said.

Baxter Auto Parts uses BendBroadband business Internet to connect with the main parts warehouse in Portland. “Everything goes through our BendBroadband Internet connection,” said Eldard. “It’s crucial to our business and it’s been extremely reliable over the years. And if we ever have a problem, the local tech support agents always help us out.”

Eldard will use his new MacBook Air as his new personal computer. “I’ve never owned a Mac and I’m really excited to learn a new operating system,” he said.
