Does the 2014 Emmy award-winning program Shark Tank (where investors decide whether to back the ideas of start-up businesses) inspire you to decide the fate of fledgling businesses? Do you care about ensuring the economic future of Central Oregon? If so, then the September 25 EDCO PubTalk is the can’t-miss event that you should plan to attend.
The Bend Venture Conference, Central Oregon’s premier entrepreneurial event, has arranged for a special PubTalk leading up to its October conference. Ten Concept-Stage company founders will pitch their ideas to an audience, who will vote on which companies will proceed to the finalist slots and the chance to win a $10,000 cash prize from BendBroadband.
Since a vibrant economy is a critical element of our strong community, BendBroadband is actively involved in the Bend Venture Conference, and sponsors the cash prize that is awarded to the winning BVC Concept-Stage company. Last year Prineville-based Ochoco Arms won the Concept-Stage prize.
PubTalks are a monthly event, jointly sponsored by the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network and Economic Development for Central Oregon. They celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship in central Oregon, and give entrepreneurs, investors and other businesspeople the opportunity to network and share contacts and best practices. All events occur at McMenamin’s Pub at the Old St Francis School, and begin at 5 p.m.
The event is almost sold out, so be sure to buy tickets today. More details and tickets can be obtained here: http://www.edcoinfo.com/events/events-calendar/431894.aspx
