Bicycle Re-Source of Bend was one of more than 30 Central Oregon nonprofits to receive a 2016 BendBroadband in-kind service grant.
Earlier this month BendBroadband proudly awarded 43 in-kind service grants to nonprofits across Central Oregon. The grants, which include High Speed Internet and a business-specific cable TV plan, are worth $1,161.48 annually. All told, the 34 different nonprofits – groups with multiple locations received multiple awards – will combined save almost $50,000 this year.
“We are very thankful for the in-kind grant,” said Eric Haynie, program manager for KIDS in the GAME, a organization that financially helps children from low-income families play sports. KIDS in the GAME is a first-time recipient of BendBroadband’s in-kind grant. “This will help us lower administrative costs so that more of our funding is directly impacting youth in Central Oregon.”
Over the past three years, BendBroadband has donated approximately $128,000 in services to local nonprofits.
“BendBroadband has been a wonderful partner and friend,” said Oregon Adaptive Sports executive director Suzanne Lafky. OAS provides outdoor recreation experiences – skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, biking – for athletes with physical disabilities.
