Seven benefits of fast internet

Seven benefits of fast internet

Having fast internet is kind of like driving a fast car. It’s exciting, you get places really quickly, and you get really used to the speed. During your day-to-day grind, little things like your internet speed matter. After all, it’s not just about getting from point A to point B. You want the speed, and you need the speed.

It’s like starting your day with decaf instead of a fully-leaded, dark roast. It makes your day easier, and subsequently more enjoyable.

But with all things, our expectations adapt. We get used to having the blistering quickness at our fingertips. The thrilling becomes the mundane, the new delight the expected usual. But don’t take your high speed internet for granted. Instead, think about how you can take even more advantage of the top seven benefits of having fast internet:

  1. You stay focused more easily. You never think about doing something else while a page loads. Balancing many tasks at once is the sign of a productive worker, but that job is made much easier when pages load and you get to where you need to in quick order.
  2. You’re able to add employees at a rapid rate. If your business is bursting at the seams and you’ve added more employees, but your internet hasn’t slowed down, that’s a good sign.
  3. You never switch off the WiFi and use data when you’re on your phone. It happens. Sometimes you get a little impatient when you’re waiting for a page to load and you switch over to your phone carrier’s connection. If you don’t ever do this at work, you probably have some pretty fast internet.
  4. Customers aren’t complaining. If I’m choosing a coffee shop to do some work in, I’m going to one that has a good medium roast and fast internet. Sure, I don’t really get to complain too much—I’m using a complimentary service. But in the competitive marketplace, a fast connection can give you a leg up on the competition.
  5. Webinars are clear. It’s even more important if you’re hosting a webinar, but even if you’re just an attendee, a good connection can make all the difference in how attentive you are when it comes to an informative webinar. This is an important one, because it’s only maximizing your ability to learn and grow your skillset as a professional.
  6. Coworkers aren’t venting. If you’ve got fast internet, you’re probably not hearing “AGH, this page is taking forever to load, and I just need to check one thing!” A survey conducted by MonsterCloud found that 60% of the 2,000 surveyed workers said slow internet was the number one IT issue.
  7. You use Cloud technology. An increasing number of businesses are using cloud technology and applications to store large amounts of data. If it takes no time at all to access that data, it only makes Cloud seem more worth it (which it definitely is).

Fast internet can mean the difference in employer satisfaction, cost-savings, and hours of avoided hair-pulling frustration that you can’t really put a price on.
