The ninth annual BendFilm Festival took place October 12-14, and like many 9-year-olds, the festival kept reminding us that next year it will turn 10! Known as a very filmmaker-friendly festival, BendFilm drew more than 70 filmmakers from across the country for a weekend of good parties, great conversations and 90 fabulous films.
Besides great films, the festival included several awesome parties. Friday night marked the return of the fabulous DJ dance party, held this year in the black box theater of the Cascades Theatrical Company after the showing of the sold out dance film, “Girl Walk//All Day.” Check out the film trailer, below.
On Saturday night, the awards ceremony was the culminating event of the weekend’s competition, with short film, “Far (Daddy)” winning the coveted Best of Show, and scooping up the $5000 cash prize.
“Ethel,” a documentary about Ethel Kennedy made by her daughter, Rory Kennedy, took home the Katie Merritt Audience Award.
