In an effort to prevent violence in our communities, we are partnering with the National Cable Telecommunications Association (NCTA) to help spread awareness of the parental controls available through BendBroadband Cable TV service.
Together we are launching a public service awareness campaign called “The TV Boss,” which will run through the end of the year. The campaign will help customers better understand the TV and film rating systems, remind them to “be the boss” of their TVs, encourage them to consume media together as families, and help children understand the media they consume.
We will air “The TV Boss” on the bulk of our cable networks as well as KBNZ-CBS and COTV, BendBroadband’s local stations. We will also use social media and other marketing tactics to encourage customers to visit the campaign home page, thetvboss.org.
BendBroadband has provided parental controls to all video customers since 2008. Our Help & Support website provides instructions for setting parental controls onboth digital TV guides used on BendBroadband set-top boxes.
