Project Connect: Special call for community support

PROJECT CONNECT – Sept. 28, 2013: The largest day of community support in Oregon.

In one day, more than 800 volunteers from Central Oregon come together to provide more than 50 services and support for 3,000 of our neighbors,  all at no cost.

The event is held each year at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds in Redmond.  Sign up solo or with family and friends and create a lasting memory of community service.

Take a few hours to help change the lives of thousands of Central Oregon neighbors who need a helping hand in a time of need. Project Connect reaches out to all of Central Oregon. The organization is providing transportation to and from Madras, Prineville, La Pine, Bend, Redmond and Warm Springs.

What can you do? Project Connect needs volunteers to provide more than 50 support services; morning and afternoon shifts are available. You do not need special medical or service skills. Ways you can help include sorting clothes, greeting and registering guests, distributing water, serving food, cleaning up, helping with children, and helping with transportation.
