Great American Country, one of BendBroadband’s most requested networks, will launch on channel 185 and 785 in HD on Nov. 1.
The network features a mix of American lifestyle programming along with music performance specials, live concerts and country music videos. Among the top shows on Great American Country are “Kimberly’s Simply Southern,” a cooking show featuring Kimberly Schlapman of the country music vocal group Little Big Town; “Farm Kings,” a reality show about the King family of Freedom Farms; and “Celebrity Motor Homes,” which showcases mobile homes in which performers and other stars travel the nation.
Great American Country will carry the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Held this year in Las Vegas, the rodeo runs Dec. 5–14.
The network has been known by the acronym GAC but was rebranded as Great American Country in October. While the channel continues to showcase country music, it aims to highlight the breadth of its programming.
Burton Jablin, president of parent company Scripps Network, said the rebranding emphasizes the network’s celebration of American culture.
“We’ve long had a vision for this network to be an all-American lifestyle destination,” Jablin said in a press release. “Think of it as a love letter to America, with heart and soul. It represents how we as Americans live and celebrate.”
Great American Country will be available to BendBroadband customers subscribing to the Preferred residential tier and the Business Value package.
