Update on Viacom Negotiations

The National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) is negotiating with Viacom on behalf of BendBroadband for continued carriage of channels including MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, TV Land and other channels.

As of today those negotiations are still underway, but Viacom is asking that BendBroadband and nearly 800 independent cable operators across the country agree to a rate increase that is nearly 40 times the rate of inflation. The increase is significant, like pulling your car or truck up to the pump and finding that gas has gone from $3.50 a gallon to $6.00 overnight.

Together we are continuing to work to negotiate a fair price to keep your prices as low as possible for these channels. However, if an agreement is not reached by March 31, Viacom may require BendBroadband to remove all its channels until a new agreement is secured. We are doing everything possible to avoid this.

As a local, family-owned company, BendBroadband strives to provide the best programming and service ‑ at a reasonable cost to its customers.

Thank you for your support as we work through these negotiations.
