TV Package Changes Will Occur April 28 Due to Viacom Agreement

As we shared earlier this month, The National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) reached an agreement with Viacom, the parent company of MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Comedy Central, TV Land and other networks. BendBroadband signed the NCTC/Viacom contract, and we will continue to offer these networks to our customers.

Despite a significant increase in the rates we pay for Viacom programming, cable TV prices will not increase because of the new contract. We are cutting costs in other areas to cover Viacom’s fee increase.

The new agreement with Viacom requires BendBroadband to move some of their less viewed channels between cable TV packages. Many of our customers will benefit from these changes. Beginning on April 28th, six channels will be moving from the Bronze level, where they are part of the Sports/Variety/Movies tiers, to the Preferred Package.

The channels affected are:

• CMT Pure Country (Channel 197)

• MTV2 (Channel 194)

• MTV Hits (Channel 195)

• VH1 Classic (Channels 191/791 HD)

• Nicktoons (Channel 89)

• Teen Nick (Channel 90)

Our Essentials customers who also subscribe to Bronze Variety, Movies and/or Sports will no longer receive these six networks. We understand that the line-up change may be a disappointment if you are a fan of these six networks. Please call us at 541-382-5551 so that we can help you select a package that works for you.

Once again, thank you for your support and input as we negotiated the best possible value for these networks.
