Soccer, fútbol, fußball, football … call it what you want. On June 12 soccer fans around the world will have their eyes turned towards Brazil, host of the FIFA World Cup, a worldwide championship held every four years. If you’re a fan, you can catch all the action on your TV.
BendBroadband will televise all 64 matches of the 2014 FIFA World Cup live and in high definition on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC during the comprehensive coverage of the tournament from June 12-July 13.
ESPN will televise 43 World Cup matches, ESPN2 will carry 11, and ABC will broadcast 10. The tournament will conclude on ABC with the title match at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 13, from Rio de Janeiro’s famed Estádio do Maracanã.
The top contenders in this year’s World Cup are Brazil, Germany, Argentina and Spain, in no particular order. But anything can happen. Uruguay, England, France and Belgium also have a shot at the championship.
