The Follies is a lighthearted, fast-paced comedy show featuring local business, civic and entertainment leaders showing off the singing, dancing and acting skills they didn’t know they had. It’s also a fundraiser to benefit the work, programs and mission of the nonprofit Tower Theatre Foundation, which runs the historic theater on Wall Street.
Each night will feature silent and live auctions, plus opportunities for the audience to use cash, checks and credit cards to “vote” for their favorite act.
The ultimate goal of the event — raising funds for the Tower — is serious, but the spirit of the night is pure fun.
“It’s time again for Bend to laugh at itself and to leave feeling good about the Tower, but with very little money left in their wallets,” said Ray Solley, executive director of the Tower Theatre Foundation, executive producer of the Follies and owner of a sharp sense of humor.
Ramsay is a former city council member, and Stewart is a familiar face around the BendBroadband office; MyWindow’s production is based here.
The Follies cast includes Bob Shaw, Tammy Baney, Tony DeBone, Alan Unger, Victor Chudowsky, Sally Russell, Casey Roats, Barbara Campbell, Tim Casey, Talena Baker, Mollie Tennant, Skye Stafford, Brad Knowles, Kimmie Fountain, Gary Fulkerson, Fr. James Radloff, the Avenue Q Puppets, Lee Anderson, Renee Nelson, Dave Clemens and Jodie Barram.
Tickets cost $33 (general seating), $18 (balcony) and $48 (VIP reserved seating, includes free drink and post-show party), available at www.towertheatre.org, 541-317-0700 or at the box office at 835 NW Wall St., Bend. The festivities kick off at 6:30 p.m. with drinks and the silent auction, and showtime is 7:30 p.m.
