Vehicle accident causes outage

[Original post, 9:41 a.m.] Because of an accident this morning in which a semi-trailer took down a utility pole, BendBroadband is experiencing an outage across all services in Redmond, Sisters, Terrebonne, Black Butte and Prineville. Additionally, customers in Bend have lost phone service.

We have a full crew at the site of the accident. Here are a couple of photos of them working hard to restore services.

[Update, 10:36 a.m.] There are also customers in Sunriver who have lost phone service.

[Update, 12:30 p.m.] Fiber splicing is underway. No firm ETA is available, but as the splices are completed, customers will start to see their services restored. Our technicians are working with urgency to restore services.

[Update, 2:30 p.m.] Though fiber splicing continues, much progress has been made in the last 30 minutes. Phone service has been restored for many customers in Bend, Sunriver, Redmond, Sisters, Terrebonne and Prineville.  As fiber splicing continues, more customers, including those in Black Butte, will continue to see their services restored. Our technicians continue working toward full restoration of all services that were impacted by the accident this morning at Empire Avenue and Nels Anderson Road in Bend.

[Final update, 4:30 p.m.] All services have been restored. Our technicians will continue to monitor the health of our network throughout the night and remain on standby should there be any further issues. If you are having technical issues at this time, please call our tech support team at 541-382-5551. They are available 24/7 and ready to assist. Thank you for your patience today.
