What to do if your email is not working

Hello! If you’re reading this, chances are your bendbroadband.com, bendcable.com or chamberscable.com email address has stopped sending and receiving email. That’s because we’ve begun upgrading our customers’ email service, as noted here, here, here and elsewhere.

First of all, don’t worry: No emails have been lost. They’re waiting to be delivered to your new inbox. But before you can access the new and improved email system, you need to take a few simple steps in the order below.

Instructions for chamberscable.com addresses follow those for bendbroadband.com and bendcable.com.

• IF YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS ENDS IN BENDBROADBAND.COM OR BENDCABLE.COM

1. After 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23, log in to the new email system at bendbroadband.com/webmail using your email address and password. If you don’t know your password, learn how to reset it here.

2. Once you’ve logged in, a new End License User Agreement will pop up. Review it. You must accept it to continue using your bendbroadband.com or bendcable.com email account. Once you accept the new user agreement, your account will be active in the new system and email will begin to flow again.

3. If you are unable to either send and/or receive email using the email program (e.g. Outlook) on your PC, tablet or smartphone you may need to update one or more of the settings in that program. One issue we have identified is that the “username” field in settings must contain your entire email address (e.g. john@bendbroadband.com). Click here to view our server settings.

4. If you have email history or contacts stored on BendBroadband’s old webmail service, you will have 60 days to access them by visiting bendbroadband.com/webmail and clicking on the “Access old emails” link for bendbroadband.com and bendcable.com addresses. If you want access to either your webmail history or your webmail contacts after the 60-day period, you must move them to the new system. Visit bendbroadband.com/emailupgrade and look for the sections labeled “Move your old emails” and “Move your contacts” for step-by-step guidance through those processes. NOTE: Emails and contacts saved in an email program (such as Outlook) on your PC or mobile device will not be impacted.

There’s tons of information about this project at bendbroadband.com/emailupgrade, including a step-by-step guide through the process, FAQs, support documents and more. And, as always, you can keep up with everything to the upgrade on this blog, and at our Facebook and Twitter pages.

(NOTE: BendBroadband will never send an email requesting any customer’s sensitive information, such as username, password, account number and so on.)
