Based on feedback we heard from you, we’re making changes to the way we bill customers who go over their monthly Internet data usage allowance.
In the past, we charged a rate of $1.50 per GB in excess of the usage allowance. This changed Jan. 1, 2016, to a flat rate of $10 per 50 GB in excess. (Note, though, that your January statement reflects data used in December 2015, so it will reflect the old rate.) So now, if you exceed your usage allowance by 1 GB to 50 GB, you will pay a flat $10 charge. If you exceed your allowance by 51 GB to 100 GB, the fee will rise to $20. For every 50 GB you go past your usage allowance, you’ll be charged $10.
Under the new structure most customers will see a lower charge for exceeding their allowance than under the old policy. Learn more about our usage allowances here. And remember: You can check your usage and sign up for usage notification emails at any time under the My Account tab on our website.
