Families rejoice: BendBroadband is now carrying the PBS KIDS network on channel 93 in the Limited, Essentials and Preferred packages!

This new channel features high-quality PBS KIDS programming 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including popular shows like “Sesame Street,” “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood,” “Thomas and Friends,” “Dinosaur Train” and more. Previously, PBS KIDS programming was mostly shown in the mornings on the main Oregon Public Broadcasting network.

In other programming news, OPB Plus has moved to channel 775 and is now being broadcast in high definition for customers with the Limited, Essentials and Preferred packages. OPB Plus is home to movies, music, investigative journalism, Britcoms and more.

Effective March 1, TBS and TNT high definition feeds will be moving from the Eastern Standard zone time to the Pacific Time zone. (Note: that standard definition feeds are already on Pacific Time Zone.

This request is being driven by TBS. Here’s how it will affect BendBroadband customers:
• Show times on high definition will now broadcast three hours earlier from where they were previously.
• DVR recordings. If a customer has programmed a recording on the Eastern Standard Time, when the feed is changed on March 1, the source ID of the original programming feed will cease to exist. The box will not know to record the new program on the new feed/source ID at the new time. Therefore it is recommended that any programs scheduled prior to the change be re-recorded after the change.

The LAFF network is no longer available. The network specialized in comedies and was seen on channels 70 (standard definition) and 670 (HD) in the preferred package. As an alternative, we invite you to visit TV Land (channel 65), TBS (16 / 616 HD) and FXX (129 / 729 HD), each of which air classic sitcoms.

NBCUniversal shut down its the crime-themed channel Cloo on Feb. 1. Cloo was launched in 2006 and aired reruns of crime shows such as Law & Order, NCISMonk and Pysch. This impacts every content provider in the country, not just TDS.

The announcement came the same day NBCU announced that female-targeted Oxygen network would transition into a true-crime branded channel this summer.
