In memory of Scout: Donation to Humane Society

In memory of Scout, BendBroadband donated $500 and bags full of dog treats and toys to the Humane Society of Central Oregon. Scout was a local black Labrador featured in several BendBroadband ads.

Last month, Scout passed away at the age of 13. His owners, Sandy and Bruce Cummings, said that after 13 years of chasing squirrels and chipmunks, his back legs finally gave out.

At the check presentation ceremony at the Humane Society of Central Oregon, Sandy and Bruce (pictured right) were so appreciative of the donation and the number of people who provided condolences following the death of Scout.

BendBroadband employees also stepped up to the plate and donated food, toys, towels, cheese wiz to the Humane Society of Central Oregon. Yes, cheese wiz was a requested item by the humane society.

“The response from our employees was great,” said Courtney Underhill, Field Market Manager. “The family was so appreciative the our entire staff’s interest!”
