BEND, Ore. (Oct. 23, 2014) – BendBroadband today announces the selection of Julie Brinks as general manager of Zolo Media. The company operates KBNZ-TV CBS affiliate, KOHD-TV ABC affiliate, COTV11 and offers multiple video and local advertising options for Central Oregonians.

In 2011-12, Brinks’ team won the national Edwin R. Murrow award for best TV news website in markets 40+. Under her leadership “The Morning Blend” community/product placement program on KGUN-TV attained a 58 percent ROI in its first year.
Most recently, Brinks was the managing member of Vicinity Media, a consulting firm for media organizations. Previously, she was the vice president and general manager for a combined radio-television group in Tucson, Arizona, which included ABC affiliate KGUN-TV, CW affiliate KWBA-TV, KMXZ-FM, KQTH-FM, KTGV-FM, and KFFN-AM/FM. In this role, Brinks established strategies and execution timelines for new local products, including nine websites, interactive, and e-commerce products.
Brinks began her career with CBS affiliates WWTV-WWUP-TV in Traverse City, Mich., before moving to FOX affiliates WGKI-WGKU-TV in 1992 as an equity partner. She has also worked for several broadcast groups in various roles, including: station manager, operations manager, and creative services manager.
Brinks earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in Broadcasting and Cinematic Arts with a minor in Music from Central Michigan University. She is also a graduate of the NAB Education Foundation’s—Broadcast Leadership program and received a full fellowship grant for her learning pursuits in 2003.
